The Scale of the Universe


Douglas Adams mentioned in the The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy that "Space... is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly hugely mindbogglingly big it is..." and "If life is going to exist in a Universe of this size, then the one thing it cannot afford to have is a sense of proportion…"

This flash animation is safer than being plugged into a piece of fairy cake. (From chapter 11 of the Hitchhiker's guide.)

A feature on the original web location is the flash that creates Randomly generated sizes! That just wrong, man! and may make Uranus the size of Planck's length. And a Swirley Version for you relativists.
